Situato lungo la costa adriatica,è parte di uno dei quattro comuni molisani di tradizione arbëreshë nella cultura e nella lingua.Oltre il turismo balneare,ricopre un ruolo fondamentale nell’ambito agricolo.
Il territorio di Campomarino è abitato sin dal XIX-XVIII secolo a.C. come dimostrano i resti dell’insediamento scoperto nel 1980 in località Arcora.
Distrutta più volte durante le invasioni barbariche, in particolare dai Goti, riuscì a risorgere ed a divenire centro di notevole importanza sotto i Longobardi e i Normanni.

Campomarino Lido, frazione di Campomarino, si trova fra il mare Adriatico e la strada statale 16 Adriatica,sede di numerose attività turistiche,colma di lidi attrezzati ma anche lunghi tratti di spiaggia libera.
Distante meno di un chilometro dal centro del paese, è meta di turismo estivo balneare e presenta un Porticciolo Turistico. Le spiagge, circondate da rigogliose pinete che arrivano alla foce del fiume Biferno.
Nel 2004 e negli anni successivi,il mare di Campomarino ha ottenuto la bandiera Blu assieme a Termoli.
SPIAGGIA DI VALLONA E RAMITELLI
Le due spiagge costituiscono un unico e lunghissimo tratto di costa. Il tutto parte a sud del Porto turistico di Marina di Santa Cristina con la spiaggia di Vallona, separata dalla SS16 Adriatica dall’omonima pineta. Il litorale si attacca alla spiaggia di Ramitelli, che si dilunga insieme alla pineta fino alla foce del Saccione, segnando il confine con la Puglia.
Nonostante la presenza su entrambe le zone di ombrelloni e camping, le spiagge sono ad ingresso libero.

La côte rejoint la plage de Ramitelli, qui s’étend avec la pinède jusqu’à l’embouchure du Saccione, marquant la frontière avec les Pouilles.
